We have been giving talks, demonstrations and running practical courses for over 25 years.

Although our 1 acre site is run on organic priciples we will discuss non-organic methods.

New courses are being planned for 2009, including joint courses with Garden Organic and the WI.

Non-gardening courses include corn dollies, woodturning, general woodworking skills, basic DIY, dolls houses and miniatures.

COURSES FOR APRIL AND MAY 2009

You can attend for a whole day (£50.00 including light lunch) or half day (£25.00).

The workshops open at 9.30 AM for a prompt10AM start and courses close at 4.30 PM.

Monday 20th April AM Principles of organic gardening. (theory),

PM Principles of organic gardening. (practical)

Tuesday 21st April AM Composting (methods and uses).

PM Wormeries (care, use and build your own from recycled materials).

Wednesday 22nd April AM Plant propagation (seed sowing, pricking out etc)

PM growing under cover (tunnels, greenhouses cloches, fleece, and netting).

Thursday 23rd April AM Tools (use and care of garden tools).

PM Growing vegetables in containers and small spaces.

Saturday 2nd OR 9th May City and Guilds certificate in organic gardening. Garden Organic guidelines.

This is the first module (compulsory) for this certificate. This unit introduces the methods and principles of organic gardening. The course is run at Denman College (Tel: 01865 391991) and is separately priced for each module. Further certificated modules will be run on Saturdays throughout the year.
